Description
Abathor is an indie action-adventure game developed by Pow Pixel Games that takes players to the mythical world of Atlantis. In a time when the Atlantean civilization has angered the gods, players will have to fight to save the continent from destruction by hordes of monsters. This 2D platformer with roguelite elements supports up to 4 players in local mode, offering a mix of cooperative and competitive gameplay. The game features over 50 stages of increasing difficulty, culminating in epic boss battles against ferocious demons, primordial gods.
Players must navigate a treacherous environment, dodging traps and descending into abysses as they fight for loot and divine favor. Abathor boasts highly detailed pixel art graphics and an epic 40+ track soundtrack that captures the essence of the arcade games of the 80s and 90s. The game’s story is inspired by the writings of Plato and the map of Athanasius, providing rich backstory for the Atlantis setting. Combining metroidvania and beat 'em up influences, Abathor offers a nostalgic yet fresh gaming experience for fans of retro action games.

Here’s what you can expect: Adventure Mode Updates We have rebalanced Adventure Mode to make it more enjoyable and less punishing: ◠Stage Saving: In Adventure Mode, you now save your progress after each stage instead of after an entire zone! (In other modes, saving is still after beating a whole zone). ◠Character Reset: When you load a game in Adventure Mode, you will receive more gold to gear up than in other modes. The further you\'ve progressed through the zones, the more gold you’ll receive! ◠Stage Navigation: After completing a stage in Adventure Mode, you can replay it from the map. Use this advantage to revisit stages where you can loot treasure and buy equipment. Additionally, his Power Attack, which was previously underutilized, has received a boost of 15% to both damage and animation speed, making it a more effective option in combat. ◠Sais: She now experiences nearly 60% less knockback when hit, enhancing her tank-like qualities and making her ideal for players who want to avoid being pushed into pits. Additionally, she benefits from a 5% increase in dash distance and a 5% boost in attack speed, making her a more competitive option even with her defensive playstyle.
