Scramble Battle of Britain is a tactical game that puts players in the cockpit during the intense dogfights of 1940. Developed by Slitherine Ltd., this strategy game offers a unique combination of turn-based gameplay and physics simulation. Players control RAF or Luftwaffe squadrons in dynamic 3D airspace over the English Channel. The core mechanics of the game revolve around three phases: Planning, Simulation, and Review. During Planning, players develop strategies and execute aerial maneuvers. The Simulation phase decides these tactics in real time, while the Review phase allows for detailed analysis of the outcome of the battle.

Scramble boasts an impressive attention to detail, modeling aircraft down to the subcomponent level. Players must consider factors such as fuel consumption, combat damage, and pilot fatigue. The game features iconic aircraft from World War II, including the Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane and Messerschmitt 109. In the Channel Defense campaign mode, players can take on the role of an RAF squadron commander, managing the recruitment, training and morale of pilots.
