Pax Augusta

Pax Augusta is a detailed Roman city-building simulator by Roger Gassman that puts you in the role of a ruler expanding the empire under the emperor Augustus. You will start with a small settlement along an imperial road and develop it into a thriving metropolis by constructing historically accurate buildings based on real-life architectural models. In the game, you will be able to grow your city organically, constructing residential quarters, marketplaces, temples, forums, and baths to meet the needs of your citizens while dealing with problems such as fires, disease outbreaks, and political intrigue.

A trade mechanic allows you to import resources such as marble and export goods along trade routes to maximize profits. You can play in a sandbox mode with unlimited creative possibilities, or follow a story-driven campaign inspired by the historical writings of Tacitus. Your economic, political, and city-building decisions will determine whether you rise through the ranks of Roman politics or fall from power.
