Desperate Place

Desperate Place picks up after an incident on board a colony vessel in the year 3040, en route to the planet KOI 7711.01. A sudden wave of ion radiation from a red giant planet damages the starship’s helium-3 fuel tanks, forcing an emergency landing on an unknown world. As a crew member who wakes up prematurely, the player is faced with the need to mine resources, repair vehicles, and survive in the face of local threats.

The main objective is to find local sources of helium-3 to replenish fuel supplies and repair the damaged vessel in order to continue the journey. Survival in Desperate Place is built around base building and resource management, using materials found on the alien planet. The player must allocate scarce supplies to construct mining and research buildings. Setting up a functional outpost requires thoughtful planning of its layout and building arrangements.

Additionally, defense against local life forms involves constructing defensive towers along with traps and obstacles, using terrain features to slow down enemies. These creatures begin an attack whenever collected Helium-3 particles are delivered to the ship. The combat system involves placing various defensive structures to repel attacks from unknown planetary creatures. Available fortifications include artillery towers, laser installations, and missile systems, each with its own range and damage pattern.
