PEAK puts players in the shoes of lost scouts on a lost island with one goal: rescue. Survival depends on conquering the mountain at the center of the island, a challenge that can be completed alone or in a team of up to 4 people. The landscape changes with each new attempt, requiring climbers to adapt. Gamers can help each other climb ledges or place ropes and pitons to pave the way for the squad.

The path to the top in PEAK lies through 4 different biomes, each of which poses unique natural obstacles. To survive the climb, characters must forage for food by eating any of 30 varieties of questionable quality. This game requires careful monitoring of physical injuries, as each miss reduces your stamina. A lack of stamina directly affects the ability to climb further, making every fall a serious incident.

Along the way, players can find various equipment, including energy drinks for a temporary boost of energy and rock hooks for creating new routes. Heroes can also discover more unusual tools, such as an item called the Anti-Rope. Successful navigation and survival actions open access to dozens of icons and cosmetic items for external character customization. The project supports a cooperative game mode by invitation or offers a single-player pass for a different experience.
