Description
Tales of the Shire A Lord of the Rings Game is a cosy lifestyle role-playing game developed by Wt Workshop that lets you experience the peaceful Hobbit lifestyle in the idyllic Shire of Middle-earth. You create and customise your Hobbit character in the fledgling settlement of Bywater, working alongside the villagers to help them gain official village status. Gameplay centres on typical Hobbit activities, such as furnishing a Hobbit hole with gridless furniture arrangements, tending a garden, fishing in clear ponds and foraging for wild ingredients. Food plays a central role: you prepare home-cooked meals using harvested crops and seasonal ingredients, then share these dishes with your fellow Hobbits, building relationships and hosting dinner parties.
As you explore the forests, lakes, and pastures of Bywater, you’ll discover hidden glades and lost treasures, as well as dynamic weather and seasonal changes. You’ll meet iconic characters and familiar hobbit families who will offer to trade you for skill upgrades, clothing, and home improvements. The game places a strong emphasis on community building through club missions and daily activities that help grow Bywater. With a casual indie approach, the game focuses on the simple joys of hobbit life rather than grand adventures, creating a relaxing sim rooted in Tolkien’s beloved world.

Update v1.0.2.0:If you’ve acquired quite the collection of mathoms, worry not. Your sizeable inventory will be just as easy to peruse as those with fewer things stowed away thanks to a few performance fixes. One can feel a bit flummoxed when you’ve chopped your Chantarelles and they simply remain on your chopping board. Now, they’ll be exactly where they should be, ready to be cooked into something hearty and delicious. There was a spot of bother tracking Young Tom’s Trouble quest. This, and other similar quests, are back on track. In late-game quests, some Hobbits forgot their manners, bunching up next to one another. They’re now giving each other a bit more personal space. We’ve smoothed out the animation for casting your line, so you can focus on fish without the fuss. RSVPs can be tricky things, especially when you’ve got what feels like half the town coming for tea. To make things easier, we’ve created a brand new button to confirm every guest who’s coming over for a bite and a tale or two. Hobbits in Turkey will no longer see strange codeword strings for flavours, or for anything else for that matter! The ambient soundtrack has been made even smoother, like well churned butter. It’s easy to keep pressing the Continue and Back buttons during character creation. It’s almost as exciting as cooking one’s favourite meal, after all. Fret not, doing so is now harmless.
