Ardenfall, an immersive indie RPG blending action adventure elements, transports players to a mystical realm of ancient prophecies and perilous quests in 2026. Developed and published by Spellcast Studios, this title casts you as a fated wanderer navigating a vast open world of enchanted forests and crumbling castles teeming with arcane anomalies. Traverse twilight thickets, recruit valiant vanguard, explore eldritch entombments, and forge legendary artifacts to restore the fallen Ardenfall. The story begins with the Arcane Eclipse, a cataclysmic convergence that fractured the veil of magic, awakening dormant dragons and shadowy sects. This mystical malaise has proliferated phantom phalanxes, riddle-riddled ruins, and rival remniscents across the ashen archipelagos.
You embody a rune-bound rogue, scarred by the scourge yet sharpened by sorcery, who harnesses the havoc to harvest harmony. Assembling a fellowship of fragile folklorists is vital to vanquishing the void. Ardenfall fuses fervent action mechanics with adventure exploration, indie ingenuity, and chilling creativity. Blitz through blood-red boudoirs, vine-veiled vestibules, and garden graveyards alongside your fellowship. Clashes convulse in visceral real-time vexations, merging masked melee, booby-trapped bouquets, and desperate dashes. Fiends flourish as carnivorous creepers, harlequin horrors, and the omnipresent Jester Juggernaut, each exacting extreme expedients to escape.
Each folklorist offers unique magic resistances, curse crafts, and evolution essences, ripe for enhancement and ethical evolutions. Venturing the venomous voids, you undertake unholy quests to unbind bound burdens, unearth eroded edicts, or unmake unhallowed unions. Harvesting hazardous harmonies empowers engineering of tantalizing talismans, katana kits, and defensive diaphanous. You moreover muster a majestic menage manor, a majestic manse for meditative masses, fellowship fusions, and forecasting your forthcoming foray in this fantastical fray.

No installation is needed — this release is fully pre-installed and ready to play, so you can skip setup wizards and long updates entirely.

Extract the archive (RAR/ZIP) to a short, Latin-only path like
C:\Games\GameNameusing WinRAR or 7-Zip — and never launch the game from inside the archive, as that is the top cause of launch failures. -
Launch the game via Run Me!.bat (or the main
.exefile) in the game folder. If nothing happens, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.

Demo 2025 Playtest Waitlist is OpenAnother demo? Yep! It\'s been 3 years since our last demo, and we\'ve improved the game a lot. We also feel that the structure of the old demo doesn\'t lend well for players jumping in - our new demo is more compact (yes, a lot smaller), starts in the actual starting area of the game, as is much more \"demo-like\". It also includes much improved combat, AI, and systems that we\'ve been working on these past few years. It\'s a damn good game in my unbiased opinion.The Demo Playtest Waitlist is Open! When the demo is ready for testing (around a month from now) we will let in players to test and give feedback. It\'ll be a first-come-first-serve basis, so reserve your spot to get the chance to access it early! The playtest is planned to run for a month or so, and then be released in a similar manner to our previous demo.Demo 2022 has been SunsettedThis means you can no longer add the demo to your library. This is to prepare for Demo 2025. It should still be accessible if you have it downloaded, however! I\'m a huge fan of internet preservation, so I\'ve also added demo 2022 to an archive on our website. It sadly won\'t have full steam support (no achievements), but it\'s still the same ol demo <3.Ardenfall Early Access has been delayed to Early 2026Alas, we are not perfect. We thought we\'d be able to cram the release for the end of 2025, but turns out releasing a big game with a tiny team is hard! We\'re now purely focusing on polish, completing locations, and fixing bugs, and it will take until earlyish 2026 to get to a point we are comfortable selling it as a product (especially since the new demo is taking a good amount of time). We hope this isn\'t too much of a disappointment, and we will definitely make it up to you by making the best game we can possibly make!
