Abnormality is a psychological gauntlet that blends the slow burn dread of classic survival horror with genuinely mind bending environmental logic. Nightmare Studios excels at creating an intensely oppressive atmosphere where the core fantasy isn't fighting a monster, but constantly questioning your own reality. You are trapped within a sprawling, ever shifting facility where the architecture itself is the primary antagonist, demanding you think outside conventional spatial rules just to survive the next room.

The core gameplay loop centers on complex, interwoven Puzzles that require manipulating light, perspective, and time to proceed. The unique mechanic is the Cognitive Shift. Solving a puzzle doesn't just open a door it physically alters the layout of the entire level in a non Euclidean fashion, often placing the player in a location they could not have logically reached. This constant disorientation is the game's greatest strength, forcing players to rely on deductive reasoning rather than rote memorization. The occasional high pressure Action sequence serves as a terrifying punctuation mark, preventing the cerebral pace from becoming too comfortable.
