Scrabdackle

Scrabdackle is an indie action-adventure game with hand-drawn graphics where you play as Blue, a budding wizard student who is literally thrown out of the academy into an unfamiliar world after an attack. Featuring traditional animation with a scribbled art style, the game blends elements of Zeldalike, Soulslike, and Metroidvania in an open world where you can learn most spells, fight bosses, and explore regions in any order. You'll explore 10 regions filled with secrets, challenging puzzles, challenging but fair bosses, and characters with their own storylines, all while filling your academic notebook with discoveries about the world.

Combat and exploration merge as you learn new spells to access previously blocked areas, though you can always choose a different path if you hit a wall. Act 1 offers 12-15 hours of main content with 6 spells, 9 bosses, 60 collectibles, and approximately 70,000 words of dialogue and lore to immerse yourself in. The game includes adjustable difficulty settings for players who prefer exploration over combat, or vice versa. Acts 2 and 3 will be released later as free updates for existing owners, with each act matching the first in scope and content, designed to be played over time between releases.
