Skate Story

Skate Story is an adventure RPG where you play as a demon of glass and pain, tasked by the Devil with skateboarding to the moon and consuming it in exchange for freedom. You'll grind, ollie, and kickflip through nine layers of the underworld known as the Hollow Lands, navigating surreal landscapes filled with waxy ledges, unholy crevices, and tormented souls. The game emphasizes mastering weight and movement mechanics to perform over 70 skateboard tricks, from basic moves to complex combos like backflips and 360 flips. In combat, you'll destroy demons with your tricks or impress them with your skill, and you'll encounter quirky characters along the way, like a forgetful frog.

You'll collect and customize your skating gear, including decks, wheels, and trucks, while completing challenges that will help you level up and unlock new abilities. The game combines free skating with structured challenges on dangerous paths and skate spots that you can discover and conquer at your own pace. Designed by Sam Eng, this indie game features a psychedelic soundtrack by Blood Cultures and John Fio, which complements the ritualistic, hypnotic atmosphere of skateboarding in hell. The game focuses on the journey from a fragile beginner to an experienced skater, testing your humility and perseverance as you face the devil's impossible task.
