Big Hops

Big Hops is a 3D adventure platformer in which you play as Hop, a kidnapped frog who must collect airship parts across four different worlds to return home. A mischievous spirit named Dis has kidnapped you for a mysterious mission related to the Dark Drops, and your journey home requires infiltrating gang hideouts, rescuing workers on the open ocean, and sneaking past cultists beneath a ruined mountain. The game features an extensive movement system, including wall running, free climbing, rail sliding, and pole swinging, as well as a unique tongue mechanic that allows you to grapple, swing at high speed, and interact with the environment in creative ways. A distinctive feature is the vegetable farming system, in which you plant items such as mushrooms for jump pads, acorns for climbing vines, and cacti for ropes to create your own routes through levels.

About This Game

You'll manage your finds using a backpack system that slows down time when opened, allowing you to strategically use the stored vegetables during the action. The game spans four distinct worlds Forest, Desert, Ocean, and Mountain each with its own distinct stories, unique characters, and branching areas to explore. Collectibles like Dark Drops, Dark Pieces, Blueprints, and Bugs serve actual gameplay goals rather than simply waste time, unlocking trinkets, gadgets, cosmetics, and other upgrades.

Hop's movement system includes rolls, wall-running, sliding, and his signature frog-like tongue, which functions as a grappling hook and interaction tool. The vegetable planting mechanic allows you to create your own solutions, throwing mushroom jump pads, acorns growing from vines, or apple dots for swings to navigate levels your way. Developed by Luckshot Games with character designs by Steven Sugar (Steven Universe, Owl House), it combines inspiration from Mario, Sonic Adventure, and Zelda in a story about a kidnapped frog named Hop who tries to collect airship parts across different worlds to return home.
