Game trailer: Blightstone
Screenshots
Description
Blightstone is a tactical roguelike set in a dark fantasy setting, whose combat system abandons the traditional grid system in favor of free movement. Success in turn-based encounters depends directly on clever positioning and cover, and the environment becomes a fully-fledged weapon. For example, tall grass provides camouflage until it catches fire, while clusters of enemies in water become the perfect target for enhanced electrical discharges. Dynamic weather conditions add further variety: thick fog can conceal enemies, while strong winds reduce the accuracy of ranged attacks. To counter these threats, you must assemble a team of heroes with different specializations.
Heroes available for recruitment:
- Brawler – a melee specialist.
- Hunter – a sharpshooter who attacks from a safe distance.
- Arcanist – a sorcerer who wields devastating spells. The Druid is a protector of nature, harnessing the powers of
- flora and fauna in battle.
- The Priest is a healer whose primary role is to support their allies.
Their primary objective is to escort the magical artifact, the Earthcrystal, through a dying world to the Infernal Rift to destroy the demon Korgul. Blightstone narrative structure is built on a cyclical nature, where each failure is not final, but merely opens new opportunities for empowerment. Shards collected after defeat are used to permanently upgrade the crystal in the Continuum Forge, unlocking new active and passive skills. Status effects, including bleeding, poisoning, and stunning, play a key role in battles, and many skills are designed to interact with these conditions.
