Lost on Cow Island is a comedic adventure quest that guarantees immersion in absurd situations, employing unconventional logic to solve spatial puzzles. Exploring locations eliminates the risk of protagonist death, following the traditions of genre classics from the 1990s. Players will interact with detailed backgrounds, examine objects, and engage in dialogue accompanied by an original musical score. The campaign runs for approximately five hours, filled with censored profanity and lightly suggestive innuendo. A user-friendly control scheme eliminates the need for endless mouse clicks, allowing players to focus on analyzing clues. The visuals are enhanced by large cinemagraphs, creating a sense of deep immersion in the surreal environment.

The story begins with the crash landing of a time machine inside an unknown cave. Doc Brown caused the incident, and Julius is left to deal with the consequences. The role of a sardonic English art student requires finding ways to repair a chronoplane to return home safely. The setting of Lost on Cow Island is an isolated area inhabited by anthropomorphic cattle. The locals wear everyday clothes and speak with pronounced American accents. The absurdity rapidly escalates when, ten minutes in, a talking horse appears on stage. The linear narrative continually generates comical episodes, leading to a completely unpredictable conclusion.
