The Floor Above

The Floor Above is a first-person psychological horror game where you find yourself trapped in a single, endlessly looping room, tied to a chair and only able to turn your gaze, blink, and choose between two options with the red or green button. Developed by Swytapp Games as a free-to-play title, it turns the anomaly hunting genre on its head, challenging you to distinguish between real threats and hallucinations generated by protagonist Mikes fractured consciousness eye blinks reveal whether anomalies are real or imagined. Your goal is to correctly identify nine consecutive rooms to break the loop and escape, with each floor rising in difficulty and multiple narrators offering conflicting perspectives on your situation.

The game features over 150 meticulously crafted anomalies woven into a deep, multi-layered plot that only unfolds after multiple playthroughs, as no element is randomly generated everything serves the story. The claustrophobic, single-room setting creates an intense dread, accented by well executed jumpscares and unexpected humor, while the deceptively simple two-button gameplay keeps you in a constant state of suspense. Hidden ghostly anomalies, Easter eggs, and a character named Morty Cat add additional layers for attentive players. The plot gradually unfolds in cycles, and as you piece together what's really happening to Mike, new clues and doubts emerge. It's a carefully crafted psychological experience that emphasizes environmental storytelling and replayability over traditional horror mechanics.
