Neon Village combines match-3 puzzle mechanics with a roguelike card game, allowing collected cards to directly impact settlement construction. Managing financial obligations becomes a constant challenge for the player, requiring the strategic use of all assets to pay off bank payments.

The game features a permadeath system, where a fallen settlement is lost forever, encouraging careful planning in each subsequent attempt.
