Description
Down with the Ship challenges you to command a doomed vessel where winning means losing honorably. Developed by Iron Anchor Games and published by Proxy Studios for release in 2026 in Early Access, this indie strategy game flips traditional victory conditions on their head. You are the captain of a sinking ship, and your goal is not to save the vessel but to ensure as many crew members survive as possible while inflicting maximum damage on the enemy. You manage lifeboats, ammunition, and morale, making desperate choices like using the ship itself as a battering ram or flooding compartments to slow sinking. The latest version of the game introduces a dynamic weather system that affects both your ship’s stability and enemy accuracy.
Strategy depth comes from balancing short term survival against long term objectives. Every cannon shot uses resources that could build rafts. Every crew member saved today might be needed to man the pumps tomorrow. Indie charm shines through in the hand drawn art style and a haunting sea shanty soundtrack.
