Stellaris Nomads

What if your home was not a planet, but a fleet of ships that never stops moving. Stellaris Nomads, developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive for release in 2026, introduces a completely new playstyle to the grand strategy classic. You no longer need to settle planets. Instead, you command a migratory fleet of arks, habitation ships, and mobile factories. Your population lives in space. Your economy drifts through nebulas. Your borders are wherever your ships happen to be. The latest version of the game adds a new "Wanderlust" tradition tree that rewards you for constantly moving, never staying in one system for more than a few years.

About This Game

The gameplay revolves around your central Nomad Fleet. You can expand it by constructing new ships, each serving a purpose. A nursery ship grows your population. A refinery ship processes minerals into alloys. A hydroponics bay keeps your people fed. You can also build mobile anchorages that act as temporary starbases, offering repair and trade while you pass through friendly territory. The AI empires react differently to nomads. Some see you as a welcome trading partner. Others fear your wandering ways and may try to force you to settle down. The latest version also adds a new diplomatic option, "Temporary Passage Agreements", letting you pay for safe travel through hostile space.

The art style of the nomad ships is distinct, with sleek, modular designs that look like clusters of glowing orbs tethered together. The soundtrack includes haunting, ethereal tracks that evoke the loneliness and freedom of deep space. For veteran Stellaris players, this expansion offers a fresh challenge. For newcomers, it is a gentler introduction because you never have to manage multiple planets. You just drift, adapt, and survive.
