Prelude Dark Pain

Prelude Dark Pain is an indie tactical turn-based RPG from QUICKFIREGAMES set in Stater, a land devastated by an ancient force known as the Dark Pain and oppressed by the Ashen Crusade. The story follows Soren, a former warrior turned blacksmith, who joins the Blue Network resistance to spark a revolution after his family is attacked. Gameplay revolves around grid based tactical combat, in which you field a squad of five heroes chosen from a roster of over 20 characters across eight classes, including Assassins, Magical Support, and Ranged Damage Dealers.

Each hero has two talent trees and a pool of 25 skills, allowing you to create devastating synergies across your entire team. Battles require careful positioning on dynamic maps, exploiting elevated positions, and navigating the changing environment to overcome mission objectives. Throughout the world, you'll face final bosses and over 70 different enemy types from 20 different factions. Your story choices impact the main storyline and directly determine which heroes join your party, meaning you might miss out on some allies forever. Beyond the main story missions, you can complete side quests from NPCs, send heroes from settlements on resource raids, and use the materials you gather to craft better equipment at your base.
