Game trailer: Expeditions Samurai

Description
In 1600, the navigator William Adams reached Japan and became the first European granted the title of samurai. In Expeditions: Samurai he never leaves England, and history needs someone else to step into the gap. The expansive RPG from Campfire Cabal, published by THQ Nordic, puts you aboard the Dutch frigate De Albatros as the newly elected leader of a motley crew of privateers, sailing straight into a country that is about to decide its own future.
You arrive in feudal Japan at the climax of a civil war, where politics, intrigue and drama are as dangerous as any battlefield. Powerful warlords fight over the fate of the nation, your choices keep attracting their attention, and life or death decisions arrive at every turn. The story is branching in the truest sense: even small decisions ripple outward, shaping your fate, your crew's, and in many cases the people of Japan itself.
Between the politics stands your crew, and every crewmate carries a story that opens up if you earn their trust. Companions can become meaningful friendships, lifelong rivalries, or even something closer to love, and the writing gives each relationship real weight. The cast is the human anchor of the game, and the reason the history starts feeling personal.
Combat answers the setting with speed and freedom. The turn based system plays out movement, attacks and interruptions simultaneously, so fights stay fluid and unpredictable. Stealth and clever gadgets let you toy with the odds, splitting the team in real time opens the door to devastating ambushes, and the arsenal stretches from pirate mainstays to iconic Japanese weapons. Crafting and loadout experimentation keep the crew alive against enemies that never repeat themselves.
For the first time in the series, the journey can be shared. Drop in drop out co-op lets friends join the voyage at any moment, while solo players chart the whole course as Captain Flynn on their own. Either way, the destination stays the same: a Japan history remembers, shaped by choices that are entirely yours.
Expeditions: Samurai fits players who want their RPGs with consequences: real history bent by player decisions, companions worth caring about, and combat that rewards cleverness over brute force. The frigate is ready, the warlords are watching, and the history books left room for you.
