Gods and Gore

The gods of Olympus usually fight with thunderbolts. Here they fight with floor plans. Gods and Gore is a roguelite tower defense set in Greek mythology from Berm Games, published by The Bueno Interactive, where your job is to pick a god and turn a city into a machine of death before the monsters of myth get there.

The structure is classic roguelite loop. Each run starts with a god of your choosing and their unique abilities, and each wave brings stronger enemies, with the scaling continuing until you fall. Between waves you draft building cards, from towers and barracks to walls and boosters, and the draft decides what kind of defense becomes possible next. No two runs play out the same, because artifacts, map layouts and card pools never line up twice.

Building is where strategy earns its name. Position matters: chokepoints squeeze enemies into kill zones, stacked upgrades multiply what every tower can do, and a well planned path turns your city into a fortress. The card based system stacks upgrades without a ceiling, so a run that survives long enough keeps evolving into something monstrous of its own.

Beyond the walls, collection gives every defeat meaning. Mythological creatures like the golden eagle of Zeus and the minotaur join your roster and persist between runs, growing stronger with every attempt. Losing still moves you forward, and the creature collection quietly becomes a personal pantheon of revenge.

The mix of card drafting, role playing progression and defense tactics keeps decisions sharp. Every round asks the same question in a new voice: what does this hand of cards want to become? Adapting to the deal instead of forcing a plan is the real skill, and the gods reward flexibility far more than dogma.
