Stonewards

Stonewards is a first person roguelite defense game from Banana Tiger Studio, playable solo or in up to four player co-op. A band of dwarves leaves the base camp to answer distress calls from nearby kingdoms.

Every mission drops the crew at a threatened stronghold. The walls are cracking, the horn is about to sound, and the monsters keep coming. The task is simple: dig fast, forge smart and hold the line. If the kingdom falls, the mission is over.

The dig phase runs between waves. Procedurally generated mines hold precious metals, rare materials and shiny rocks worth stealing. The tunnels twist and hide caves, and everything has to be hauled back before the next attack begins. Take too long and the team defends one dwarf short.

The forge phase spends the loot. Resources craft arrows, repair defenses and unlock randomized upgrades. The choices stack raw strength, strange powers or tougher walls, and each run builds a different set of tools. The team plan never survives contact with the monsters, and that is part of the fun.

The defense itself needs coordination. Gates have to be covered, walls held, and crafted items used at the right moment. When the outer defenses break, the crew falls back and regroups. The game keeps a light comedic tone, and the dwarves complain about everything with style.

This release is Build 24694610 from August 12, 2026, about 624 MB in size. The language list includes English, French, German, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. For co-op sessions with friends and a roguelite loop, Stonewards offers loud, messy and enjoyable defense rounds.

The runs stay short enough for quick sessions, and the difficulty scales with the group size. Friendly fire is limited, but chaos is guaranteed. Random upgrades keep each defense fresh, and the procedural mines make the resource hunt different every time. The studio promises continued updates during Early Access, and the current build already runs stable in co-op tests.
