Free real estate with one dangerous condition is the deal behind Ecrazeus Castle, an anime styled action RPG with hack and slash combat from developer and publisher Meringue Rouge. A gargantuan castle goes on sale for nothing, but the buyer must defeat its owner, Ecrazeus, first. The offer is too strange to refuse, and that is exactly how the adventure begins.

The reason for wanting the castle is delightfully practical. The supermarket empire Wizamart has been waiting for an ideal flagship store location, and this castle is second to none. The hero sets out on a short journey to claim the building, either for himself or for his boss, even though danger lurks beneath the generous offer. What follows is equal parts retail ambition and monster slaying.

Combat is built around a power trip. Enemies drop a variety of weapons that the player can dual wield, and power ups collected along the way raise the stats permanently. Every fight leaves the hero a little stronger than before, and the fully 3D battles give the action its weight.

Enemy encounters come one after another as the hero pushes deeper into the castle. The flow of combat rewards aggressive play, and switching between two held weapons keeps the moves fresh from one room to the next.

Progress is measured in cleared halls and collected upgrades. The stat growth never stops, so even a tough section becomes manageable after a round of hunting for drops. The loop is direct: fight, gather, grow, and push farther.

The campaign keeps the premise light and the pace fast. Rooms, corridors, and the castle grounds form the arena, and the final meeting with Ecrazeus waits at the end of the road. Ecrazeus Castle is aimed at players who enjoy short, punchy action games with anime flavor and a sense of humor, and it comes from Meringue Rouge.
