Wattam is the first major project created in 2013 by the American studio Funomena, which included debutants and industry veterans such as composer Austin Wintory, Martin Middleton (flOw, Flower, Journey) and Keita Takahashi (Catamari Damacy). Wattam was first announced in December 2014 during the PlayStation Experience event. The creators of the game were Takahashi and his friend from India, Vikram Subramanyan. The word «Wattam» is a combination of two words from Tamil and Japanese, which means «make circles» and «turn around.» Both are related to the subject of the game, which is the process of combining different things.
