Blasted Realms developer and publisher Proponent Games announced today the release of a new demo and video trailer for the upcoming metroidvania adventure game Rise of The Betrayer on Steam. For a limited time, PC gamers can download a free demo and get a taste of the upcoming events right away as they explore the cursed land of Karak to uncover the truth behind its dark history.

About This Game

Death is meaningless in the RISE OF THE BETRAYER. Anything that dies eventually returns to existence. Players must navigate this ancient realm of dangers in search of answers and powers that will allow them to uncover the dark truth behind this veiled land and the dark truths hidden behind your own past. As the Traitor, they embark on a story-rich adventure game that combines fast-paced platforming with an exciting world, crafts, characters, combat and abilities. Part of overcoming obstacles in this world is learning how to use all the tools at your disposal. One of the most valuable parts of your toolbox is your ability to create. Prepare potions to restore your health or increase your strength. Craft weapons to defeat your enemies, and armor to protect your delicate parts.

Step-by-step setup process for P2P Release

No installation is needed — this release is fully pre-installed and ready to play, so you can skip setup wizards and long updates entirely.
Extract the archive (RAR/ZIP) to a short, Latin-only path like C:\Games\GameName using WinRAR or 7-Zip — and never launch the game from inside the archive, as that is the top cause of launch failures.
Launch the game via Run Me!.bat (or the main .exe file) in the game folder. If nothing happens, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.

Having trouble launching the game?

Check these common causes before troubleshooting further.
