The Knight Witch

The Knight Witch — is a metroidvania with shootem up and card game elements. It was developed by the independent studio Super Mega Team, formed by people who previously worked on projects such as Rime, Moonlighter or the Plants vs. Zombies; it was produced by Team17. The Knight Witch takes us on a journey to a fantasy world, or rather, to the underground city of Dungeonidas. The city, whose inhabitants led a peaceful life, was attacked by an army of combat golems.

About This Game

The main character of the game Rain as a titled witch knight, takes on the task of coping with the threat. The Knight Witch is a side-scrolling game. Basically, we travel through vast locations and destroy hordes of enemies. On our way there are both cannon fodder, appearing in mass quantities, and much more powerful bosses. The battles are very dynamic, and during them we have to constantly be on the move in order to effectively dodge enemy bullets and carry out quick counterattacks. This task is facilitated by the ability to fly, which Rhine willingly uses. The heroine can fight both in close combat, using melee weapons, and at a distance, using firearms and a wide range of spells. The latter are presented in the form of cards that we can choose ourselves; thanks to this, we can create a deck that will best suit our style of play.

The game has an original character development system. Rain grows in strength, thanks to the adoration of the inhabitants of the Underground. It is up to us whether we succumb to the temptation and lie to the inhabitants in pursuit of their love, or decide to be honest and reveal the painful truth, at the expense of slowing down development. In any case, over time, we discover new spells and combat skills and improve existing ones, which allows us to face increasingly stronger opponents.
