About This Game
Brebem BT52 BMW I4 Turbo. One of the most unique F1 cars of all time, the BT52 took Nelson Piquet to his second world championship in 1983. Power was the order of the day as the BMW Turbo engine produced massive torque and was believed to be capable of 1400bhp. on a dynamometric stand after removing the bypass valve. it was not suitable on the race track, but in the qualifying configuration it could produce almost 900 hp. Lotus 98T Renault V6 Turbo. The iconic black Lotus 98T may not have won the championship, but it was one of the last Team Lotus cars to win a race, with a Renault engine producing over 1,200bhp. in the race, fuel consumption was often a hindrance, but Senna remained the 4th contender for the 1986 title until the penultimate race of the season. McLaren MP4/4 Honda V6 Turbo.
The all-conquering MP4/4 needs no introduction — possibly the most successful F1 car ever owned by two of the greatest drivers of all time, the MP4/4 was in a class of its own in the 1988 season. Although the restrictive turbo regulations that season meant that the turbo’s output was much lower than the previous season, its low-profile, streamlined design made the other cars on the grid look distinctly dated. McLaren MP4/5B Honda V10. Released in 1989, the B version of the MP4/5 was developed for the 1990 season and in this car Senna won his second championship after a season of rivalry with Prost’s Ferrari, culminating in their infamous collision at Suzuka.
McLaren was now powered by Honda’s V10 engine, and although it was still the best engine on the grid, the team’s hegemony was being challenged by Ferrari’s more advanced chassis. McLaren MP4/6 Honda V12. For the 1991 season, Honda decided to switch to a V12 engine and although the kit was good enough to give Senna 4 consecutive wins at the start of the season, while Williams struggled with reliability issues, it soon became apparent that the FW14 was far superior aerodynamically and its The Renault V10 was the best engine overall, forcing Senna and McLaren to step up their game to hold off Nigel Mansell’s attack — by the end of the season they were back on the pace of their rivals, allowing Senna to match their challenge. win his third world championship. Not only is the MP4/6 one of F1's most iconic cars, the sound of the Honda V12 was unlike anything else ever heard on a race track before or since, truly a sight and sound
