SpaceVenture

SpaceVenture is a point-and-click adventure game developed by the guys at Andromeda, the creators of the classic Space Quest series. You play as Ace Hardaway, a space plumber officially called a life support technician, and his robotic companion Rooter, who find themselves embroiled in an intergalactic conspiracy after a routine repair job goes awry. The story has them battling sewer monsters, dodging corrupt law enforcement, and uncovering a sinister conspiracy involving mind-controlling video game consoles that threatens the entire galaxy.

The gameplay focuses on traditional adventure mechanics: you collect spaceship parts, solve puzzles using various tools and PDA apps, and navigate a variety of locations, from debris-strewn asteroids to alien deserts. Ship building is one of the game's main features, as you scavenge components and fuel your vessel with dubious biowaste as you travel between star systems. The game features the developer's trademark humor and challenging puzzles, complemented by quality voice acting and a retro soundtrack.

The characters range from clumsy space cops and eccentric inventors to shady corporate executives, each with their own agenda and backstory. The game combines nostalgic adventure game elements with modern design, creating a crowdfunded homage to classic sci-fi adventures that blends comedy with real puzzle-solving challenges.
