The Girl from Arkanya

The Girl from Arkanya is a pixel art RPG that draws inspiration from classic 2D Zelda games like Minish Cap and Four Swords Adventures. You play as Marisa, a treasure hunter from the lost city of Arkanya, who teams up with Capi, a magical capybara, after circumstances force them into an unlikely partnership to save their homeland by hunting for riches. The adventure spans 7 handcrafted overworld zones and 6 themed dungeons, each filled with collectible artifacts that reveal the history of the Amazon. Combat and exploration revolve around 15 equippable tools that solve puzzles, aid in movement, and can be upgraded for increased effectiveness.

As you progress through dungeons, Marisa learns new spells that are activated through sacred dances and grant both characters special abilities. The core mechanic of the game involves switching between Marisa and Capi, with each character having unique abilities needed to overcome certain challenges. This character swapping system creates strategic depth and puzzle-solving opportunities in the jungle. Local co-op allows a second player to seamlessly join the game, controlling the companion character during the adventure. The game combines treasure hunting with role-playing in a mystical Amazonian world filled with dangers, secrets, and valuable artifacts waiting to be discovered.
