Temple of the Green Moon is a psychological action adventure in which a skeptical blogger travels to Russia's Zhiguli Mountains to debunk the local paranormal legends. What begins as a mission to satirize supernatural folklore quickly turns into a nightmarish encounter with unfathomable forces. Players explore mysterious locations from a first-person perspective, using photography to discover hidden objects invisible to normal vision, and battle mysterious entities.

The game features a unique journal system that generates personalized entries based on your actions and discoveries, essentially creating your own story through choice and attention. Time travel elements allow you to visit different eras of the anomalous zone, while parkour and survival mechanics add complexity to the exploration. Visuals created on Unreal Engine 5 provide detailed environments that enhance the atmospheric mystery.

Combat encounters with supernatural forces are combined with puzzle solving and item collection mechanics as you uncover the secrets of an ancient ritual. Your decisions directly impact the fate of the protagonist and the narrative of the diary, making each playthrough potentially unique. The Zhiguli Mountains of the Samara region serve as an authentic backdrop for this supernatural investigation, where skepticism meets inexplicable reality.
