Casebook 1899 The Leipzig Murders is an atmospheric, action-packed detective adventure that takes players to industrial Leipzig, Germany, at the dawn of the 20th century. You play as detective Josef Kreiser, investigating four interconnected murder cases in this historically rich location. The game features hand-pixelated environments, created through meticulous historical research, creating an authentic Victorian-era atmosphere with detailed animations.

The gameplay is based on classic detective work: examining crime scenes for clues, interrogating suspects and witnesses, and solving puzzles. Your investigative tools include an extensive notebook in which clues are organized by location, and a deduction board where you connect clues to draw conclusions. The interrogation system challenges you to differentiate between witnesses and suspects, gaining their trust to obtain important information.

The game's distinctive feature is its emphasis on player autonomy you choose who to blame for each case, and these decisions directly affect the outcome of the story in multiple endings. There are no game over screens, meaning you have to live with the consequences of your deductive reasoning. The game is fully voiced in German for authenticity, and subtitles are supported in English, German, and Italian, enhancing the historical experience.
