Ayasa Shadows of Silence is a metaphorical journey into the inner world, where the central conflict shifts from external threats to the protagonist's internal struggle. This project combines elements of adventure, platforming, and narrative with elements of horror, and its story is told wordlessly, relying on sign language, allegories, and vivid imagery. Players guide the heroine, Ayasa, on her quest to find the remnants of light amid the ruins of a dying universe. Progress is accomplished by solving intricate puzzles in surreal settings, and each action determines the final outcome: finding forgiveness or a final descent into darkness.

The events unfold in the Distorted Realm a dimension that was previously balanced under the protection of the Absolute, Tasa. After a devastating conflict, the former order was disrupted, and now the heroine must explore six allegorical regions. Each region in Ayasa Shadows of Silence embodies a specific ethical concept. One triad of locations symbolizes the virtues of Faith, Hope, and Love, while another represents their opposites: Greed, Betrayal, and Indifference. Traveling through these warped spaces is the only way to restore the universe's lost harmony.

To overcome these challenges, the protagonist utilizes the extraordinary gifts bestowed upon her by the weakening Absolute. She possesses the ability to manipulate the flow of time to undo past mistakes, as well as the gift of invisibility, allowing her to avoid encounters with threats. Furthermore, she can manipulate the energy of light. This skill is required to activate ancient constructs and discover hidden routes leading to the ultimate restoration of balance in the world.
