Dreadway is a psychological horror game with survival elements that sends the protagonist on a solo voyage through a post-apocalyptic world aboard an old ship. The main goal is not only to reach safe harbor but also to maintain sanity amidst a constant shortage of resources and the pressure of terrifying events. The protagonist must navigate their vessel, craft necessary items, and carefully manage the supplies they find while exploring a procedurally generated world. Every foray ashore to search for provisions, fuel, or spare parts becomes a tense challenge, as abandoned locations harbor not only useful items but also deadly threats. The atmosphere of oppressive loneliness and hopelessness is heightened by the need to make difficult decisions that affect the rest of the journey.

The central mechanic of the game is ship and resource management. It is necessary to monitor the engine's condition, fuel level, and hull integrity, performing repairs promptly. The crafting system allows you to create tools, ship upgrades, and essential items from salvaged scrap. Dreadway gameplay requires the wanderer to strategically plan their route, as each section of the journey depletes precious supplies. The journey is complicated by unpredictable events and encounters, forcing the player to constantly adapt to the changing conditions of a hostile environment. This title offers deep immersion into a world where the main adversary is not only the environment but also one's own despair.
