Scarlet Idol pulls you into the glittering, blood‑stained world of a forgotten pop sensation whose fans are dying in ways that mirror her most famous lyrics. Developed by 山雨工作室 (Mountain Rain Studio) and published by Pilot Games for release in 2026, this puzzle RPG horror adventure game follows a detective investigating a series of ritualistic murders linked to the cult of the Scarlet Idol. Twenty years ago, she vanished mid‑concert. Now, her holographic image flickers across abandoned theaters, and her most devoted followers are writing her final verse with carving knives. You must enter her crumbling fan commune, solve reality‑bending puzzles, and decide whether she is a victim, a monster, or something worse.
The latest version of the game introduces a “Stan Meter” that tracks how much you immerse yourself in the idol‘s lore, with higher obsession unlocking secret endings but also accelerating sanity loss. Puzzle design blends traditional inventory challenges with audio‑based clues (distorted songs, backwards messages) and environmental manipulation. RPG elements include skill checks for charisma (to interview survivors), perception (to spot hidden evidence), and resolve (to withstand psychological attacks).
