Scrap Mechanic is a game about construction, mechanisms, and free exploration in a large open world. The project was created and published by the Axolot Games studio. This version of the game is presented in 2026. The player finds himself on a planet where ordinary machines have stopped doing their job and have become dangerous. To survive, you will have to collect materials, create useful devices, and gradually equip a safe place.

The main part of the game remains construction of mechanisms. From individual blocks and parts, you can create transport, moving platforms, automatic doors, and other structures. The game does not provide one ready-made plan that you must strictly adhere to. You decide for yourself what exactly you want to build and how it should work. Even a simple machine can have different looks depending on the author's imagination.

About This Game

To create moving structures, wheels, bearings, engines, pistons, and other parts are used. They can be combined into complex systems. At first, not every mechanism works as intended. The machine may lose balance, turn poorly or have insufficient speed. This does not mean that the structure needs to be thrown away completely. Often it is enough to rearrange a few parts and re-check.

Creative mode is suitable for free experiments. It gives access to the necessary elements and allows you to focus on the construction itself. Here you can test strange ideas, create large transport or build mechanisms without constantly searching for materials. This mode shows well how many different things can be done from one set of parts.

In Survival mode you have to pay more attention to the world around you. Materials need to be found and transported to the base. You also need to watch out for dangerous robots that can interfere with work. The built transport helps to move faster between remote locations and transport heavy supplies. A well-designed machine makes further travel much easier.

The open world allows you to choose your own direction. You can start building, go in search of resources or explore a new part of the map. The game does not force you to perform one action all the time. If you get tired of working on the base, you can get into your own transport and go further. Upon returning, the materials you find will help you continue the old project.

Scrap Mechanic is suitable for people who like to create things and test their own ideas in practice. Here, a mistake becomes part of the process, and an unsuccessful design often becomes the basis for a new invention. The combination of construction, survival and exploration allows you to play at a comfortable pace and independently set new goals.
