Every building, every street, and, as the developers proudly calculated, every pigeon across five iconic cities. Pigeon: A Love Story is an open world adventure from Wristwork, published by Wristwork Ltd together with Tiny Dragon, and somewhere in that feathered crowd, one bird is yours to find.

The premise is as simple as it is absurd. You soar across full scale replicas of London, New York, Tokyo, Paris and Amsterdam in search of a pigeon shaped soulmate. It is a slow game for fast times, and the whole design leans into that idea: no rush, no markers demanding speed, just you, the skyline, and a city wide simulation where hundreds of thousands of autonomous pigeons live their lives in real time.

The search itself is social in the truest sense. You call out to the flocks. Most pigeons politely reject you, some may hand over a clue, and one of them, somewhere, is waiting. Pigeon-SIM technology keeps every street alive, so every rejection becomes part of the comedy, and every hint becomes worth remembering.

There is a lighter side for players who prefer company. Up to eight friends can join across two multiplayer modes: one dares you to find each other, and the other races to see who reaches their soulmate first. A passive mode lets the game play itself, screensaver style, for pure birdwatching, and if you want full commitment, you can coo into your microphone and call out in game with your own voice. An original soundtrack by Madwreck keeps the mood zen throughout.

Pigeon: A Love Story suits players who want open worlds to wander in rather than to clear: absurdly detailed cities, a romance with genuinely odd stakes, and the kind of idea that sounds like a joke until you are invested in the answer. The flock is enormous, the sky is open, and love is statistically somewhere above the rooftops. Bring patience, and perhaps a good coo.
