BONEREADER

Death on the electric chair opens the story of BONEREADER, a strategy and adventure card game developed by Bonereaders and published by DANGEN Entertainment. Betrayed and executed, a prisoner wakes up in Purgatory with one goal: beat the spirits who guard this world and learn the truth behind the trial.

The afterlife in this game is a series of duels against restless souls. Each opponent is a card battler with a personality, a deck of its own and a story that ties into the mystery of the execution. Talking to them between fights slowly reveals what was stolen from the protagonist.

Combat runs on three connected systems: cards, dice and items. Players collect cards for their deck, throw mystical dice to pay for the cards and manage a limited inventory of artifacts. Combining these parts creates synergies that decide how far a run can go.

Luck plays a visible role here. A bad roll can stop the best plan, while a well timed throw lets the player play several cards in one turn. The game punishes overconfidence, because pushing luck too far often ends a run.

Every spirit brings its own house rules into the duel. These rules change how cards behave and force constant adaptation instead of a single winning strategy. Defeating an opponent awards its unique dice, so each victory expands the set of tools available for later fights.

The project was released on 6 August 2026. Alongside the game, the creators prepared a digital artbook with more than 40 pages of artwork and comments from Yakov Butuzov and Daria Vodyanaya. It shows cards, dice, items, opponents and unused endings in detail.

BONEREADER is a compact strategic adventure where every duel matters and every defeat teaches something new about the world and its keeper. It suits players who enjoy deck building with a clear dose of risk management.
