Combolands is a tiny roguelike citybuilder with deep strategy packed into a bite sized frame, developed and published by Crux Games. The charm hides a sharp mind underneath. Every run starts on a brand new procedural island with one job: grow a tiny hamlet into a thriving city before the clock runs out. Place buildings, unlock powerful synergies, and trigger cascading combos until the numbers sing.

The heart of each run is a single choice. A pantheon of seven guilds offers unique identities, strengths, and drawbacks, and you pick two different guilds every time you play. That pairing lands in one of 21 possible combinations, setting the direction of the whole city from the first tile. New guilds unlock as you go, widening the menu of strategies.

Mechanically, the game blends deckbuilder thinking with citybuilder layout. More than 120 buildings wait in the catalog, more than 100 passive heirlooms enhance your build, and upgrades can rewrite the behavior of what you construct. Potions can even reshape the map itself. Each placement feeds the next, so good runs turn into cascades of bonuses across the island.

People matter as much as buildings. Recruit from more than 13 city councillors, each with personal progressions and abilities, and slot them where they sharpen your plan. Their abilities stack with guild bonuses and heirlooms, creating combinations that no two cities share. The right councillor at the right moment can turn a struggling settlement into an engine of efficiency.

Runs land in satisfying bursts of around 30 minutes, built around the rush of numbers going up. Ten increasingly challenging ranks give the long game its spine, and every failed run teaches you to break the game a little better next time. Combolands is a strategy puzzle where every island is fresh and every city is yours to build for the ages.
